When I was newly married, I wasn’t really much of a cook. It just wasn’t a priority until my husband and I were transferred to Australia. In Australia, we were constantly invited over to friends houses for dinner parties because Australians are really friendly like that. All of a sudden I was faced with the realization that if we wanted to invite some friends to OUR house, we needed to learn how to cook! I learned gradually and there were many good friends who endured my test dinners. Thankfully! But while I was there, a book came out called Hot Food Cool Jazz to raise money for a charity. It was a great cookbook with music to go with each recipe. I was soon making curries to jazzy tunes that matched the food. It really made the whole thing so fun.
I decided to try a little matching game with some music I like today. Here’s my take on some Music to Cook by….Happy Monday!!
Cuban Pork by The Food Charlatan and Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. I love this girl! She is a foodie!
Pasta with Eggplant and Cremini mushrooms by TheMinimalistBaker.com and Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran
Braised Short Ribs and Creamy Polenta by Girl and The Kitchen and Hello by Adele
A Perfect Burger by Bobby Flay from Bon Appetit Young Americans by David Bowie
Almond cupcakes….YUM!! These are by Jessica Erin at StuckonSweet.com along with Sugar by Maroon 5
I can’t wait to hear what recipes and music you would put together! Let me know what you recommend or what you’d like me to match in a future blog in the comment box below. Rock on through dinner my friends!
Best,
Ivy
